Holidays and Festivals at Nigun Halev
All holiday activities are open to the public.
Rosh Hashanah
A gathering to welcome the new year with singing, words, prayer, and the sounding of the shofar. Held on the evening of the second day of the holiday.
Tashlich
A renewal of the Tashlich tradition at Nigun Halev, for women, held every year before the new year.
Yom Kippur
The Nigun Halev community holds its Yom Kippur at the Nof Tabor Hotel near Mizra.
A full day of melodies, prayer, reflection, and study. An experience of renewal and repair, memory and humanity, together and alone. Silence and self-listening, forgiveness, and healing of breaks with delicate touches on the big matters.
Sukkot – Week of Activities
During Sukkot week, Nigun Halev hosts multiple events in the sukkah:

Erev Sukkot – welcoming the holiday with songs, blessings, prayers for rain, and the Ushpizin mitzvah

Sukat Shalom – a special multi-community evening with Muslim and Christian communities from Migdal HaEmek, Nazareth, Shefa-‘Amr, and Manshiya Zabda, in cooperation with “Women Making Peace”

Evening for the whole family in the sukkah – storytelling/performance with coffee and cake

Kabbalat Shabbat in the sukkah – celebrating Shabbat in the sukkah in the spirit of Sukkot
Simchat Torah
At the conclusion of the weekly Torah portions and the beginning of Bereshit, Nigun Halev celebrates with songs, dancing, Hakafot, and mentioning all weekly portions – accompanied by the klezmer orchestra Kleine Mentshelekh.
Hanukkah
Celebration of Hanukkah Friday evenings with candle lighting, songs, blessings, and lots of light. During the eight days of Hanukkah, additional events include singing, study, and holiday-specific experiences.
Tu BiShvat
An evening accompanied by words, songs, and melodies about roots, trees, landscapes, and fruits – as a metaphor for human life.
Purim
An evening with a dramatized reading of the Megillah, combined with Hebrew songs.
A lively special format for the whole family
Memorial Days
An open evening marking Holocaust Remembrance Day and Memorial Day, in the spirit of these times of year.
Shavuot Eve Study
An evening of Torah study and melodies on the eve of Shavuot.
Tisha B’Av
An evening reading of Eicha, lament melodies, and discussion about the meaning of Tisha B’Av for us and Israeli society today.
Pre-Holiday Study Evenings
Preparation evenings for holidays to prepare the heart, family, and community for the upcoming holiday.
