Annual Events
All Nigun Halev events are open to the public.
Dreams to Inherit
On 12 Cheshvan, 4.11.95, Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated.
As an Israeli community, it is important for us to give our own expression to this difficult date. We chose not to hold another memorial or speak again about the hardships of Israeli politics, but rather to follow the spirit of Rabin’s optimism, inspired by his famous saying:
"I have no assets; I have only dreams to inherit."
Every year, we hold an evening combining nigunim and personal stories of good people who realize dreams that benefit Israeli society.
It is an uplifting and thought-provoking evening, inviting practical action. Participation is important.
Hebrew Culture Evening
Over the years, many outstanding creators have contributed to Israeli culture.
Nigun Halev, as a community that sees itself as part of Israeli culture, organizes annually an evening dedicated to one of these creative figures.
During the evening:
-
We tell the life story of that figure, presented by Dr. Moti Zeira
-
We sing their songs and melodies
-
We highlight their contribution to the development of renewed Hebrew culture
This evening is part of the “Milk & Honey” Festival of the Emek Yizrael Regional Council.
Evening in Memory of Prof. Gabi Solomon
Prof. Gabi Solomon, a recipient of the Israel Prize, was a beloved member of the Nigun Halev community.
Every year, we dedicate an evening in his memory, combining the themes of peace and academic research that were close to his heart, along with the songs he loved.
Community Holiday
Every year we celebrate the community’s birthday, marking the number of years since its establishment.
The evening is dedicated to the community’s work:
-
Volunteers
-
Creators, singers, musicians, and artists involved in the community
Annual Retreat
A time for a relaxed social gathering among community members.
We organize a weekend where our time is dedicated to:
-
Communal singing
-
Conversations and deeper acquaintance with one another
“Sukat Shalom”
Encouraging Connection with Our Neighbors
As part of Sukkot, we annually hold an evening bringing together members of different religions, hosted in the community’s Sukat Shalom.
The festive Sukat Shalom serves as a kind of annual harvest festival of friendship meetings with different communities in our area.
